I Paid $1.75 for My Groceries

I just had to share the great money saving weekend I had last weekend that also spilled over to the first part of the week.

Earthfare (www.earthfare.com)

The last time I was in an Earthfare was about 5 years ago. It's been that long only because I live 30 minutes away from the closest store. I decided to visit their website last week and see what specials they were advertising.

Great deal #1: If you sign up for their email club you will instantly receive a coupon for a free whole chicken or veggie burgers.

Great Deal #2: They now have a rewards program called "Tomato Bank" where you can earn reward points various ways. Every 100 points=$1. At the time I signed up they were offering 1000 bonus points (1000 points = $10).

These deals were motivation enough to take the drive. I picked out a little over $24 worth of items. I used a $.75 off store coupon on an item. I then used my free chicken coupon which saved me a little over $12. The $10 Tomato Bank money was applied and that left me paying just over $1 plus applicable taxes PLUS I received 5 points towards my next reward.

Definitely worth the 30 minute drive with 2 kids.

Dominos (www.dominos.com)

During the first part of January Dominos ran a great promotion where you could buy 2 medium 2 topping pizzas for $5.99 each and then receive $5 toward your next purchase within the time frame they specified. So we order 2 awesome handmade pan pizzas (worth the extra $1 each for the crust) and then they emailed my coupon code to use within 10 days.

We used the coupon on Monday. Why Monday? Because right now Dominos runs their large 3 topping pizzas for $7.99 Monday - Wednesday. So we were able to enjoy a fantastic Brooklyn style, large pizza for only $3.24 (includes tax).

It was a great weekend and wonderful Monday to be a Mommy and save money. What great money saving experiences have you had lately? Share below.
